Refreshing and aromatic with stacks of lime and kiwi and a distinct “mineraliness”. Insanely drinkable and a wine to please a range of palates. A certified crowd pleaser.

Producer
Venta la Vega is the personal project of renowned Bierzo oenologist Raúl Pérez one of the leading lights in the new generation of Spanish grape-growers. And none other than José Ángel Martínez from Envínate is in place as winemaker. He farms 225ha of organic vines in Almansa, the majority of which are Garnacha Tintorera, one of the rare, red-fleshed wine grapes. Like much of continental Spain regions, the arid soils, hot days, and cool night are a perfect breeding ground for growing organic grapes.
Viticulture
Grapes grown at almost 3000 ft above sea level on 20-year-old vines in an extremely continental climate. Organic viticulture is used and the vineyards are certified organic.
Winemaking
50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Verdejo. Grapes are harvested in the dead of night when temperatures are cold and acidity is at its highest. A cool fermentation is followed by 4-5 months on lees, adding texture and weight to the wine.
Taste
Mouth-watering stone fruit, lime, grapefruit, green apple and passionfruit flavours are backed up beautifully by steely minerality and complexity well beyond its price tag.
Food Pairing
Great with seafood, Mexican cuisine such as fish tacos or chicken enchiladas, antipasti and salads, goats or feta cheese.
