The Island of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland, is more renown for making peaty single malt whisky than gin, however, the Botanist Gin is made at whisky distillery Bruichladdich. Botanist uses 22 botanicals foraged from the Islay by husband and wife team Richard and Mavis Gulliver along with 9 other traditional botanicals including juniper, citrus peel and angelica and oris root which are steeped overnight in the last remaining working Lomond still affectionately named “Ugly Betty”. A bold and fresh but very complex gin.
