Aligote grapes are grown along side the Le Clos du Meix Gobillon property in the Ladoix-Serrigny region. Here, they benefit from their own micro climate due to a small stream to the South and the closed walls, that allow plenty of sun to fully mature the grapes. Hand picked grapes are pressed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats to preserve freshness. After malolactic fermentation, the wine sits on its lees in stainless steel before bottling.
2016 – 12%
Frosts on Wednesday 26th April destroyed about 70% of the crop, only the parcels of the higher half of the hillside of Corton were spared. In 2016 we harvested the unfrozen vineyard, by a winemaker friend, in addition to the few Aligote of our plots were vinified together. We named this vintage “La Cuvee des Saints de Glace”.
Floral and citrus aromas, light, fresh but fruity. Charming and smooth wine.
Drink now to 2021.
Pair with charcuterie, seafood, goats and blue cheeses. Enjoy as an aperitif or even with a drop of cassis.
