Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Heavily Peated

Our Bourbon-Barrel Finish has been aged originally, with no blending in refill and first-fill American Oak Hogsheads.

We then blended a selection of each whiskies for two stages of re-ageing

• the first stage takes a proportion of the blend into Virgin American Oak Heavy Char 250 litre barrels with Fresh Oloroso Sherry European Oak Heads

• and the rest into refill Hogsheads.

Finally, all the component parts were given a final ageing or finish in smaller 200 litre fresh Bourbon Barrels.

This last period of maturation and marrying of the flavours, again in American Oak, adds further layers from the original Bourbon Whiskey filling introducing fresh fragrant smoky oak and giving rise to heightened vanilla and coconut overtones.
