The farm was established in 1970 in Contrada Ciafone (Offida area) and is under now the direction of the Bartolomei brothers, Massimiliano and Walter. Made with grapes grown on the calcareous and clayey soil the Rosso Picenos of Ciù Ciù are typically dense and meaty with a strong scent and full-bodied structure.
Grapes are grown 250 meters above sea level in the town o Morro D’Alba in mixed but clay heavy soils. Traditional wine making techniques are used with vinification in stainless steel and further 6 months in steel before bottling.
This Lacrima is extremely floral – think parma violets, sweet cherries, liquorice and juicy sweet-sour palate reminiscent of black Muscat grapes.
