The Gottardi family have been settled in the volcanic hills of Breganze since 1904, running a successful trattoria offering traditional Bassano cuisine. In 1999 the third generation of the family realised their dream of becoming vignaioli by acquiring 12 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards were on unstable ground and had been lying fallow, but after two years of work 50,000 vines were planted and organic viticulture could begin. The winery is ultramodern but dedicated to old-fashioned winemaking techniques, with wines processed using gravity and pumps rarely used.
