Deen De Bortoli was a master storyteller and a lover of wine who could often be found lounging over a barrel or makeshift table, eager to share a story and a glass of wine. The Master’s Blend is a reflection of that, bringing together Shiraz, Durif and Cabernet Sauvignon.

De Bortoli Deen range is all about delicious, exceptional quality wines that are afforable for everyone. The range includes a selection of full-flavoured wine varieties. Deen De Bortoli was a true visionary in the Australian wine industry, whose mission was to create quality wine for everyone to enjoy. The ‘DEEN’ range is a true reflection of his pursuit and a great tribute to Deen himself.
Viticulture
Spicy Shiraz from Heathcote, the rich Durif from Riverina along with the cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon from the Yarra valley make for a harmonious blend. Yields are generally low and grapes are picked in cool mornings to help retain freshness.
Winemaking
Fruit from each variety of each region kept separate and was carefully destemmed into Potter fermenters where the individual parcels underwent a cool ferment for a total period of 6 to 10 days. Pressed off at dryness, the wine was then put into a selection of new and older American and French hogshead barrels for 12 months. A multi-regional wine that captures the essence of each variety from the regions the fruit is sourced.
Taste
Blueberry fruits, chocolate with hints of cedar spice aromas, there’s plenty going on here. The generous palate has an abundance of dark fruits, structured tannins and lingering dark chocolate.
Food Pairing
Pair with you favourite Roast, Lamb Shanks or a delicious Ragu. Also great for BBQ season.
