Viticulture

Crafted with select estate lots from their Main Ranch vineyard. 

Winemaking

They view the cellar as a tool to bring out the true character of each grape- the winemaking should amplify what the vineyard has to say. Grapes are taken to the historic Eshcol Winery which dates back to the 1880s. The winery itself holds a lot of history and has been restored several times during its 140 year history.

53% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in oak for 14 months with 10% being new oak. 

Taste

Inspired by some of their premium wines, the Eshcol wines have all the Trefethen charm in a relaxed but delightful style making it an incredibly approachable range.

Ripe, juicy flavours of plum, cherry, and raspberry are layered with notes of warming clove, black pepper, and cocoa. Full-bodied and balanced, this red blend is supported with a generous mouthfeel and long-lasting finish. Riper than its French counterparts but incredibly elegant.

Food Pairing

A really versatile wine for a range of foods. It’s an ideal pairing for casual dinners like barbeques and spicy pizzas, or try with a juicy steak or with your Sunday beef roast.
