The grapes are grown in clay limestone soils. Gérard Bertrand’s commitment to sustainable agriculture has been recognised with the ECOCERT certification, guaranteeing organic production, environmentally-friendly packaging and a low carbon footprint.
The grapes were gently pressed, followed by static must settling and cold stabilisation. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled vats to maximise the fruit’s aromas and the freshness of the wine. The wine remained on the lees for three months with pump-overs taking place every 10 days. The wine was gently fined and then 30% was aged in oak for six months. Further ageing in bottle for a few months before release.
Intense aromas of white flowers, honeysuckle, ripe pear, peach and sun-ripened citrus, lead to a crisp, lively and fruity palate, which is smooth and richly flavoured, with a persistent finish.
Shellfish, poultry or Asian inspired cuisine.
