Vintage port is great but it’s not always that accessible- you either have to wait 30+ years for it to be ready to drink or pay a small fortune for an old vintage. However, this is where single Quinta vintage ports come in to play! Made in years that aren’t declared as a ‘full’ vintage, they a vintage ports that are ready to drink now and feel just as decedant. And this one is no different! Layered, complex and rich, it’s the perfect balanced.

MORE INFORMATION
Producer
Established in 1820, W & J Graham is one of the most famous names in the Port trade and has long been synonymous with the greatest Vintage Ports. The Symington family acquired the company from the Graham family in 1970, so today Graham’s remains a wholly family-owned firm.
Viticulture
The quality of Graham’s Port relies on the finest grapes, primarily sourced from five iconic quintas in the Douro Valley: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta das Lages, and two others, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas, which are privately owned by a member of the Symington family. Quinta dos Malvedos is situated on the north bank of the Douro River, a short distance from the mouth of the river Tua, between Pinhão and the Valeira dam.
Located in the Upper Douro region, the vineyards at Quinta dos Malvedos are mostly south facing ensuring prolonged solar exposure and excellent ripening of the grapes despite localised microclimates created by the natural undulations of the valley. Height above sea level in the Quinta varies from 130m to 350m, with a 15-year annual average rainfall of 606mm. The vineyard produces rich and complex full-bodied wines with floral characteristics of eucalyptus and mint, and soft violet overtones when young.
Winemaking
Aged for 18 months in oak before release and bottled without filteration.
Taste
Rich, layered and full of fruit, this is delicious. Intense black cherry, black currant and blackberry, there’s notes of dark chocolate and coffe which balance the fruit beautifully and stop it from being jammy. Well structured with an admirably long finish.
Food Pairing
A fabulous way to end a lunch or dinner, it pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, a cheeseboard or just on its own with the company of good friends.
