La Brune (French for ‘Brunette’) was created when multi-award winning winemaker, Nico Grobler, visited Burgundy and fell in love with Burgundian winemaking and the expression of their wines. Bringing this back to South African soil, his wines focus on finesse, elegance and purity of fruit.
Matured for 12 months in untoasted barrels, 25% of which is new. 60% whole bunch gives enticing lift to aromas of strawberry alongside notes of forest floor and mushrooms. Linear, tight with a mineral core coated with some beautiful texture and red fruits. Long pure finish.
