French born Jean-Edouard de Rochebouët is a man who knows a thing or two about sparkling wine. He helped pioneer ‘méthode champenoise’ wines from Argentina in the early days of Domaine Chandon in Mendoza. More recently he has been the man behind the fantastic wines of Bodega Atamisque and his own small sparkling wine project – Cave Extrême. He works to create a label that reflects his own experience and heritage.
A blend of 50 /50 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Uco Valley fruit; representing another string to Argentina’s increasingly sophisticated bow, this is a very convincing and delightfully commercial traditional method wine.
Deliciously fruity and finely balanced with superb brioche / shortbready notes on the nose due to its spending 12 months on the lees in bottle, pale straw in colour with consistent tiny bubbles.
