Nine noble grape varieties are found at Rimauresq: Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan for the reds, Rolle (Vermentino) and Ugni Blanc for the whites and Cinsault, Mourvedre and Tibouren for the rosés. Only the best fruit from the vineyards is kept to craft the wines and selected old vine fruit is used for the “R” rosé. This dedicated approach, combined with a modern gravity fed winery, allows Pierre Duffort and his team to focus on producing the very best Provence has to offer. In addition to Grenache Noir, Cinsault and Mourvedre, Rolle (4%) and Ugni Blanc (2%) provide perfumed complexity to the blend. The wine is stored in its lees with regular batonnage over the winter after the harvest. The result is a gorgeously aromatic and light wine with good acidity that can be cellared for up to three years.
Delicate coral pink in colour yet with real concentration and weight due to the 70 year old vines used to produce the ‘R’ wines. This is one of the best and most classic of Provence rosés, vinous and weighty yet still very fine with opulent Grenache fruit and a touch of spice.
