Romanina has relatively young winemaking history. However, it is thought to have some of the oldest vineyards in the world. They have a good wine making environment with long gentle autumn months for ripening and a dry, continental climate. Romania is, surprisingly, Eastern Europe’s largest wine makers meaning you can find their wines relatively easily in UK and they often give customers better value for money.
Premium Romanian wine estate Recas Cramele was founded in 1998 and is owned by a winemaking team of three families, and it is here that they suspect some of their vineyards to be the oldest. The emphasis here is on quality and innovation achieved by hard work, passion, and of course a great respect for the terroir.
