Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur is made exclusively on the island of Sicily, Italy from hand-picked Sanguinello blood oranges from the slopes of Mount Etna.
Created by Master Distiller, Lesley Gracie, Solerno is the world’s first blood orange liqueur. Using a special blend of three small batch distillations, each crafted in old-fashioned stills, Solerno is comprised of the fresh essential oils from the skins of Sicilian Blood oranges which are blended with the distillates of orange and lemons and a quality neutral spirit base, then lightly sweetened with natural sugar. The fruits are processed within 24 hours to maintain the fresh, ethereal nature of the oil.
Solerno is bottled in Sicily in glass inspired by the famous Venetian Murano style. The nose bursts with whole-fruit blood orange aromas, red berries, orange blossom and a hint of lemon.
The palate has a velvety sweetness which balances the tartness from the citrus fruit. Full bodied, with a long, dry finish.
The fresh yet intense richness of Solerno can be savoured with prosecco sparkling wine or lemon flavoured sparkling water and in your favourite cocktail.
