Using 100% Irish malted barley, Waterford’s Single Farm Origin series is an uber-provenance range of limited edition natural whiskies that explore Irish “teireoir” – one farm, one place at a time. No colouring, chill-filtration or additives are used whilst long fermentation and slow distillations have created an impactful flavour.
TASTING NOTES
Waterford Hook Head 1.1 Single Malt has a rich texture with notes of earthy maltiness, salted caramel, citrus peel, breadcrust, clove, white pepper, ginger biscuits and a slight touch of salted popcorn with a long and oily finish.
FARM
EXTREME MARITIME TERROIR – with barley grown in the shadow of the historical Hook Head lighthouse in Co. Wexford, it is exposed to the full range of salt-laden storms, sea mists and ocean breezes. Farmed by Martin Foley, this is the first release from the 2015 harvest of Propino barley from Hook Head farm, and the whisky has been aged for 3 years, 8 months and 25 days.
